CHROMA, KEEDZ AND OTTA ANNOUNCED AS REBALANCE FINALISTS
Festival Republic together with PRS Foundation are pleased to reveal CHROMA, Keedz and Otta for the latest round of ReBalance finalists that provides five days of recording time in Old Chapel studios to a UK based core female-identified band, musician or solo artist, as well as a slot at a Festival Republic or Live Nation Festival. The panel who chose the three acts consisted of Festival Republic’s Lucy Wood, Ed Lilo, and Jana Recmanikova, plus Joe Frankland and Winnifred Sandy from PRS Foundation, Sophie Roberts from 13 Artists, Hannah Berney from She Writes and Yaw Owusu from LIMF.
CHROMA is and Alt-rock trio from the Cynon Valley who write in Welsh and English. Between Katie, Bev and Zac, they offer a fresh style to the local scene, and since setting up the band in 2015, they have won BBC Radio Cymru’s Battle Of The Bands in 2016, and have been chosen for BBC Music Introducing. They release their self-titled debut EP shortly after as well as performing at Reading & Leeds Festivals in 2017 and are more than familiar with Cardiff venues such as Tramshed, Clwb Ifor Bach and the Motorpoint Arena. The band have had their songs played by Huw Stephens, Adam Walton and Bethan Elfyn, as well as strong support from BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru.
CHROMA said;
“We’re incredibly thankful to ReBalance for granting us this opportunity. In the 4 years we’ve been together as a band we’ve confronted many different forms of sexism. ReBalance’s mission really resonates with us and we’re honoured to be included in this journey towards equality.”
